This is the sauce. Many of the ones called “sirap” only have text in Swedish. Also several listings that say “sirap” in the website text say “molasses” in English on the bottle/jar pictured. I suspect this is a case of us not liking the word “melass” for human food in Swedish

Here you go! I didn’t really manage to get all the peaks in there, and I have so much to learn about painting clouds, but I’m happy with the look of the mountains.

So a while ago I tripped and fell and picked up a new hobby, soft pastel painting, after not painting at all since school. I’m doing an online course, purely for fun, and have been painting a lot of flowers, using different techniques and materials. Thought I’d share some of the results:

Stumbled on one of my favourite pictures of Jarvis-dog, and felt like sharing it, because it’s cold out and I miss summer. Taking a snack break on a long hike and lying down together in the grass: a perfect thing to do with your dog friend.

Some birds from today’s walk
A row of four mallards, two male and two female, on a lake. They are all standing on one foot with their heads tucked under a wing, on the very edge of a layer of ice, just before open water begins. The ice and the water are almost identical in colour, both reflecting a light grey sky. The bodies of the ducks are reflected in the ice, but not in the water. There is a sense that the ducks are the only thing existing in an unknowable grey-white expanse.
