I want to uplift the women hearing in these stories the echoes of their own, the many countless women who have been survivors because the world decided that they were expendable because all women & girls are expendable if a man might be inconvenienced by them & all of our bodies are free game.

I want to uplift the women who were girls who told their stories & withstood & are withstanding threats & lies & horrors unknown, but I also want to uplift the many hundreds who didn't because they couldn't, because no matter why they couldn't, they should have had to ever make such a choice.

Over many years, and a pandemic, we have worked with an international team of researchers to answer the question through genomics. We believe the origin is recent (in the last few decades, in line with previous research) and spatially from Western Europe
