i completely disagree with you there. the negatives vastly outweigh any potential positives because nofap increases people’s shame around porn, which studies are showing is the biggest factor in people’s issues around porn. it’s directly amplifying the underlying issue

you can’t simultaneously claim that we have to take an addiction model seriously for porn and then advocate for a recovery solution that no modern addiction model would ever support, your arguments don’t even stand up to their own internal logic

even if you did believe in the addiction model for consumption of porn, addiction models suggest treatment to assist with recovery. cold turkey is one of the absolute worst ways to recover from addiction, so if you were serious you would not be recommending nofap regardless
