The two of them are like yin and yang; Buck and White Fang. He — a domesticated wolf with a dash of wildness to him; she — a wild wolf with a dash of domestication.

So I went with that. Mind you, she’s still fairly dangerous and has her sharp moments reflected in the design (sharp claws, sharp muscles), but so does Cresc have his flowy and softer elements.

I had designed Cresc to be quite angular and pointy, and him being a city boy, whilst Lykoris is a child of the wilderness, I recalled reading the artbook for Wolfwalkers, how they said they designed everything town-related to be angular and sharp, and everything nature-related was flowy and round.

When I set off to design her, I wanted to deliberately walk away from features and traits I tend to default to and what I did with Cresc. They’re not related by blood so there’s no reason for them to have an obvious visual relation.

and help lycanthropes in general. Lykoris’ mom adopted Diego, as his own mother has died staving off the demonic incursion, and in time Diego grew and had a family of his own, Cresc being his first child.

The clan scattered, reputation tarnished, many forced into hiding. Lykoris kept to her duties both as the aasimar of Selune and as the clan leader, despite there being no clan to speak of anymore. She still tried her best to keep in contact with its members, help them wherever she could,

And the vampires were all too eager to “help” pin the responsibility on the werewolves, considering Lykoris and her clan had been a diplomatic thorn in their side for decades, keeping their vampiric desire to subjugate the normal populace in check.

They did, but not after a fair bit of loss on all sides, including civilians.

The need for continued secrecy around the portal and the (begrudging) backing of the vampires by the druidic order and Mailikki’s paladin forced the clan to take the fall for the tragedy and run from their home forests.
November 12, 2025 at 11:34 AM
While we were all distracted with each other, the portal was opened, and the vampires, along with the werewolf clan under Lykoris’ command + the help of the paladin and a few other notable guests, had to scramble to contain the demonic incursion and close the portal.
November 12, 2025 at 11:34 AM
they did find both the paladin’s father (amnesiac and turned vampire) and Diego (still entirely werewolf and alive), and one of the other guests who had snuck into the gala was a demonic cultist aiming to open the portal into hell and let his supervisors “have a little fun” of their own.
November 12, 2025 at 11:34 AM
They agreed to each sneak into the gala the vampires were planning to hold in the near future and cooperate with their respective investigations. They did, as did a few other people, both friendly and not. During the investigation of the mansion, some secrets of the vampire family were found out;

Said paladin was also investigating the vampire lady because she and her clan were responsible for safeguarding a portal sitting below their mansion, and recently they stopped answering the order’s communication. Plus, the order’s liaison with the vampires happened to be the paladin’s father.
November 12, 2025 at 11:34 AM
The story of the one-shot (turned mini-campaign) was that a kid of the clan, Diego, had gone missing, and Lykoris was out to find him. Her investigation lead to the mansion of one of the local vampire ladies and had her cross paths with a paladin of Mailikki, a member of a prominent druidic order.

I had assumed I’d be a werewolf by virtue of being an assimar of a goddess-patron of good-aligned lycanthropes but I was allowed to be a werewolf AND given a whole clan of lycans to play with in my backstory.

charged with protecting it and balancing their wild lifestyles with the lifestyle of the nearby cityfolk. She was created before Cresc, years ago now, for a mid-level one-shot where I asked our DM if I could play an aasimar of Selune and a werewolf.

Her own mother adopted little Diego, Cresc’s future dad, when his own mother had died in battle.

Lykoris, the werewolf aasimar of Selune, 80 y/o (middle aged for an aasimar), she/her, Blood Hunter. Formerly the leader of a proud clan of werewolves blessed by Selune;

You might know Cresc, my main sona, one of my main dnd characters. He’s on my avatar, in the headers etc. But my boy wouldn’t exist without HER. She’s not his mother, they’re not even related by blood, though legally she counts as his aunt.
