Hegseth's murders can't be war crimes when there's no war. They're just depraved murders. During wartime, lethal force is permitted under certain circumstances. When there's no war then self-defence is surely the only justification. Hegseth's a pig and a poseur.

US media can't bring themselves to make the salient observation that Trump's provocation of military on the streets has finally achieved the response he sought. No doubt Trump will feign more concern for these officers than he did for Khashoggi.
