I think 'device hoarding' is a marketing term thought up by tech companies to give a negative connotation to people not buying every new model.
Its almost the opposite of FOMO which was what drives people to queue up for the latest iPhone.
Clearly 'device hoarding' exceeds FOMO.

According to the victims' lawyers the Diocese of Ballarat was in a league of its own as far as child sexual abuse went.
But instead of performing their duty to protect the victims, they protected the perpetrators.
That is why they are now facing financial pressure.
