Stop blaming the victims. Stop pushing this dangerous narrative. Start tackling dangerous driving.

Vision Zero won’t happen while we ignore the people actually causing the harm.

Funding allocations for The National Development Plan...

We can’t cut transport emissions 50% by 2030 with these allocations. This plan doubles down on car-centric thinking—more pollution, less movement, and zero vision for healthy, sustainable transport.

Thank you, @thinkorswim.bsky.social and @whittledaway.bsky.social for always bringing reason and much-needed urgency to the conversations around the climate and nature crisis.

It was a genuinely inspiring discussion this afternoon between two people who continue to push things forward.

Keep at it!

Yesterday, we marched alongside inspiring organisations and individuals at the National Climate March, urging the Irish Government to deliver a just climate-action policy and phase out fossil-fuel power.

Showing up. Speaking up. It matters.

Let’s keep going!

Climate action = health action!

One planet. Two 'realities'.

The Irish government may talk the talk — but their actions speak louder than any promises.

Amid climate-driven suffering, they continue to prioritise profit over people, the planet, and public health.

It really is that simple.

Ireland is one of the few European countries where road deaths have risen since 2019.

That’s not a coincident, but rather the result of a transport system that prioritises cars and speed over people and safety, with weak enforcement and timid road-safety policy.

Data from the European Commission.

Proud of our very own Drs Sean Owens, Caoimhe Clarke, and Vinnie Wall for their stellar work with the Climate and Health Alliance report on Active Travel: The Magic Pill 🚲✨

This report details the exact reasons for the health case for investing in spaces and travel designed for people, not cars!

Fantastic insights today into Ireland's broken agrifood systems and failures rooted in colonialism - as well as the groundbreaking sustainable initiatives out there! 🌍

October in Ireland.
Apples from New Zealand.

Our food system is completely broken.
We could grow these ourselves, but instead, we ship them 18,000 km.

If we can’t grow and eat what’s in season here, how can we talk about food security?

These aren’t offhand remarks. They’re a pattern.

They minimise. Mock. Downplay. Delay. Ignore.

The climate crisis is here. The question is: will our leaders wake up before it’s too late.

If you wonder why we are failing to reduce our transport emissions and why we have a dysfunctional car-centric transport system. This is why. This is who are invited to aa Oireachtas committee to discuss transport and climate targets...

The mind boggles.

As is, with his continued push to not only lift the Dublin Airport passenger cap but also to significantly increase numbers, Minister O'Brien seems more like a minister for worsening climate change than one responsible for climate action and a sustainable transport system.

Brilliant letter below!

The 2026 Budget must be the one that turns the tide on nature and climate action in Ireland.

Health, climate and nature are inseparable. The Budget 2026 must reflect that.

One of our members caught the soon-to-be-cut Paris–Berlin sleeper train...

Sad to see the service go, but very on brand to be reading @thinkorswim.bsky.social's fabulous new book, The Lie of the Land, along the way.

Available in any good bookstore as John would say!

The Irish Times has published a truly dreadful letter this morning.

Far from adding to the debate, letters like this do only one thing: stoking hostility between road users. It is divisive and antagonistic.

And all this comes in a week when three people cycling have been killed on Irish roads.

Our latest statement on the Dublin Airport Passenger Cap.

Lifting it would be a betrayal of climate commitments and public health.

The choice is clear for our government: protect people, protect health, protect the planet—or protect polluters.

IDE and Galway Hospital GreenED support the urgent Connemara Greenway completion. Greenways are a proven, cost-effective intervention that improve physical and mental health, reduce air pollution and road danger, strengthen local economies, and expand sustainable tourism.

Irish media reporting on road collisions too often dehumanises victims and hides driver responsibility. Cyclists and pedestrians are people first — the language we use matters.

Brilliant letter to the editor today by our very own @orlaghgaynor.bsky.social in response to Justine McCarthy’s article “Searing summer may be telling us the race to halt global warming is lost”.
