I met my hero, Stan Musial, at his restaurant in Saint Louis. He autographed a picture for me. That was about 1954.

2/2 bell rang which meant a Senator was on the next train. Our guide suggested we stop and see who it was. It was JFK and we were all introduced. I was about 6 and everyone rushed in front of me. When the crowd parted he saw me and we made eye contact. I was too shy to step forward, and he left.

Ike and Tina Turner went on the orad after success at the Club Imperial in Saint Louis, Missouri, near where I grew up. They asked the club manager to be their manager and go on the road with them. He declined and one of my cousins married his daughter.
