Hi, I'm Dave from rural Gloucestershire, ingurland! Best known for whimsical synthesizer & computer music under the moniker Blitz Lunar. Also known for founding the Sample Pack Contest series & the Discord music community Maj7. Formerly staff @ vgmusic.com for several years - and a few other things~
I need to stop idly commenting my opinion under Facebook posts by pages out of boredom, because holy jesus, what the fuck is that?

It has got me fantasising about reducing my internet presence to last.fm scrobbles.

Humanity is actually dreadful, what ever is the point in us?

Last day of eating normally. Next three days I am limited to a "low residue prep diet" of white bread, white pasta, white rice, peeled potato, chicken, white fish, eggs, black coffee & water, to get my bowels in condition for MRI scanning on Wednesday. No dairy, no fruit, no veg.

God what a day. The lego situation opened pandora's box. In a quest to find missing lego, the loft had to be half-emptied; now stuff is scattered all around the house. A lot of it is junk and would've been gotten rid of years ago if it was my decision. I think/hope finally this is the tipping point.

Test results arrived.
No viruses. Normal B12, folate, iron, kidney, pancreas & liver function, but low albumin & raised CRP & platelets, all likely Crohn's related. Calprotectin is 718; >600 "suggests (Crohn's) disease". And I'm Vitamin D deficient. I should try goin outside sometime!
MRI next week.

Another 7 hour day spent making up Lego sets from a massive pile of bits. Getting somewhere at least ~ about a dozen sets rekindled. Still many more but it feels good to finally do this. Fantasising about all of the extra space in the house like Marie Kondo. It has been nostalgic, too. Lego is cool.

There is currently lego sprawled all over the dining room table and in boxes, as attempts are made to reconstitute it all into full sets. It is one hell of a job. it took me all of yesterday to remake one set to 99%. Stuff that hasn't been touched since the 90s - some of it now valuable.

I had an early night last night, folded and went to bed just before 9. When I woke up I knew it would be early so I put my head back down. Woke up a second time, I am wide awake and rested. It is 2:52. Fuck these meds man.

Pred's beginning to make me feel shitty. It took a while but side-effects are intensifying. TMI:

Oily face, soft/smooth skin elsewhere, change in body odour, tired a lot, not sleeping well (moving to GMT didn't help), palpitations, constipation, vision changes. But, it's doing the job...

The new Tame Impala has burrowed into my cranium and is on repeat in my head. Love it love it love it. youtu.be/xnP7qKxwzjg?...

Silent Light from Chrono Trigger is still my #1 #spook tune tho, not sure that crown can be taken.

Noticed recently how defensive people can become if you say you are saving/don't want to spend money. Some people seem to take it as a slight against them personally that you're being careful, especially if they are aware that you have money you could be spending and are simply choosing not to.

Gotta be honest this was a serious slog the last few days. I have palpitations. Easier day tomorrow but feeling accomplished at least.

Love it when the clocks go back, me. I get a whole extra hour in bed, meaning I wake up at 4 o'fuck clock and scroll my phone for three hours instead of two.

I will be finished by about 8 this evening.

Spending the afternoon mass converting Nintendo 64 USFs to 320kbps MP3s. Yeah, it's time. It's going to inflate my file storage but hopefully not too much. I decided that because I can't play these on mobile, I dislike playing them on Windows, and Linux is an unknown, they are a priority to remove.

Having a productive day solving Windows mysteries. Figured out permissions and finally deleted two 13yo WinXP folders; Documents and Settings, "895858986b3e00ad80ea". Took ownership of vstis & samples dir on C:, chkdsk'd drives & set up a bi-monthly backup reminder msg under Windows Task Scheduler.

Question, does anyone generate and maintain hashes on their data as part of their backup strategy, as well as synchronisation/mirrors? I am wondering if this is something I should start doing or whether it's a bit paranoid. I only synchronise currently, which risks synchronising rotting files.
Spent the evening learning a bit more about potential harms to data from power loss, UPSs, backup scheduling/reminders, RAID, silent corruption, file checksums/hashing... my current strat isn't bad (synchronise to an external every couple of months) but far from foolproof. Data anxiety arggggh.

Wow. Taking a moment to breathe this in. What is happening to politics in this country...
Remarkable victory for Plaid Cymru. Expect lots of attention (rightly) on Labour’s collapse to 11% of the vote. How much attention will the Conservatives get for their 2%?

This morning: the weather looks rough tomorrow, I think today would be the better day to do some PC stuff, in case of power outages.

3PM: fucking power cut anyway sure why the hell not.

This morning I waltzed up to another human being & handed them my poop in jars "like normal" and tbh I'm not over it. I must say, she didn't seem impressed!

This was worse than giving blood samples. Haunted by the Hey Duggee Theme playing in my head as I chop up my literal shit with a tiny shovel.

the doctors drained me of GALLONS of blood today, the bloody bastards. but don't worry, tomorrow I will have my revenge, by serving them up vials of my poop. it's the least they deserve.

Unusually I am leaving my PC on overnight to upload some stuff and damn I cannot believe I used to routinely leave a PC running overnight in the mid noughties. This one has a case fan that runs at full tilt 100% of the time, and my desk has no sound insulation, this shit is SO noisy. :(

I (finally!) worked out a directory renaming File Op in foobar2000 to add release years. Wanted for my phone library en-mass since mobile fb2k doesn't expose %year%.

(When I say "I" I actually mean GPT. This shit solved something I wanted help with for *ages* and has saved hella time. sry not sry.)
