I read 13 books in October!
Hemlock & Silver by T. Kingfisher = dark fantasy stand-out with a great unconventional protagonist.
The Shape of Thunder by Jasmine Warga = middle school book club's pick and prompted perhaps the best discussions in club history.

Monthly Reading - Sept. Edition

You can tell it's back-to-school time because all my books are MG/YA. (Just slower with adult books right now)

Standouts:
Safiyyah's War - fresh WWII HF
The Tenth Mistake of Hank Hooperman - all the feels
Next Stop - GN that took a surprisingly deep turn

Road-tripping allllll the way across Kansas has been made more bearable by this fun book. No offense, Kansas--I am just ready to be home.

I always have an interesting mash-up of books for work and books for me (although I generally enjoy them all).

And I always ADORE reading a new Stephen Graham Jones.

Currently listening to the MG book A Game of Noctis by Deva Fagan and not only is it a fresh-feeling fantasy with great world building, but its central message is "hey, the world is rigged so the rich & powerful keep winning & things get worse for everyone else" and I'm here like, "Yep, relatable."

April is School Library Month

The best way to support school libraries is to elect leaders at the local level (e.g. school board members) and national level (e.g. the President) who value libraries and schools, reading and research, and opportunities for all children.

Got SGJ's Buffalo Hunter Hunter from my local indie bookstore, @bobzbay.bsky.social

I don't usually go for the fancy edges, but daaaaaang, this hits just right.
