The site had a unique value proposition because nowhere allows you to search by all the criteria here ad-free. One requirement for amazon to allow a site to make money off affiliate links was a unique value proposition but apparently this didn't pass muster.

I believe in an internet where you shouldn't have to view ads to see every little bit of information, but a trackback link to buy a product you are viewing the information about is probably good UX. When a corporation denies the ability to link to them that is fundamentally breaking the internet.
