hollow knight to me is a game that i should theoretically really like but i just didnt because the level design felt monotonous and i disliked the soulslike death system

also i hate to be like this but the jokes weren’t that funny and came at the wrong time

the really good songs are really good and there are a lot of really good songs (cadmium colors is a permanent mainstay) but it also feels so. incohesive? a lot of the songs feel out of place with the rest, especially Birdbrain, which isn’t great when there’s heavy use of motifs and quoting
