However, E. coli and other ARG-rich species can be controlled through 🧪 aromatic lactic acids = metabolites produced by early life associated bifidobacteria! The same bifidobacteria species that have been previously linked to health and are boosted by breastfeeding 🤱

We followed infants from birth till 5 years of life, and found that 🧬 antimicrobial resistance genes are most abundant at 6 months. The early life resistome was linked to the deliver mode and was largely driven by E. coli 🦠
