Feel like a factor may be people's follows have grown a lot over time, so the chance of seeing a given person's post goes down unless you're somehow scrolling your whole follow feed each day.

I honestly dislike it on my Xbox Elite controller. The added weight in the stick from the magnet meant if I let the stick go after pulling to one side, it could overshoot back the other way, creating a new input. Have to set unreasonable deadzones to avoid it.
