8/ experience is measurably worse than their parents or grandparents who had more in life with sometimes markedly less formal education? America's a winner, baby!!! Forget that the economy today is 400 billionaires in a trenchcoat, or if that the AI sector today were to implode like the Ponzi...

7/ I'm sure my 50% increase in earnings in the last dozen years should definitely help balance out the experience of the majority of America in their recent economic "successes", right? So we can all go home, call it an average win and label workers today as delusional in saying their lived...

6/ nowadays will never be able to afford home ownership for their family in most places like they could in the 1960s. Cheap consumerism does not replace necessities! Ever! So on the other side of the equation, how's the minimum wage doing? The wages of restaurant servers and retail workers?

5/ please pardon the workers who don't feel like the ability to get a $200 flat screen TV on Black Friday offsets the ability to afford cheap, GOOD, health insurance for their family. Or that being able to buy $99 bus fare plane flights offsets that a high school graduate working a factory job...

4/ on 1 episode during Covid-19 when the working class FINALLY lost its collective shit at being tread on by ownership and said, "you want to call me an 'essential worker'? You'd better start paying me like an essential worker, or you can come down to the store and earn your own dividends". So...

3/ protections and benefits, the working class of America without the luxury of time to be overengaged on social media ACUTELY feels the precipice edging nearer and nearer to their feet. And let's not forget the entire increase in worker's wages, which is the premise of the article, is based...

2/ and my life has grown immeasurably better in the last 30 years. Whereas 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, with the proportion growing higher every single year. They are 1 bad medical emergency, 1 bad layoff away from bankruptcy or homelessness, and with today's declining labor...

Nah. This whole article is an exercise in the failure to understand the difference between median wages and "average" wages in this era of unparalleled wealth inequality, and also the difference between economic insecurity and economic improvement. I'm well within the top 5% of earners / wealth...

It’s not mean, it’s just injury. Broken bones take 6 weeks to heal. That doesn’t change because you get surgery, have a fabulous trainer, or drink unicorn blood.

Money, intellectual laziness, and a pathological inability to admit when you’re wrong can be powerful motivators. Did I mention money? There’s a lot of $$$ shilling for billionaires these days, even more so if you’re not from a stereotypical demographic

Concerns about racists are legit, but you're missing the point of the cartoon. Dems have been bamboozled for decades by the rich into thinking the rich are going to help them "fix" racism and inequality. There's a reason the rich give to both GOP and Dems.
December 18, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Democrats, once back in office, need to use their newfound powers to break up large corporations till they're small enough to drown in a bathtub, to use GOP-speak. They don't have America's or democracy's best interests at heart, and they never will in their current incarnation.

What Ambassador G'Kar said, but also: the tech bros understand climate change is real. they want all that Canadian wilderness that will become prime farmland and a good alternative for doomsday hideouts to New Zealand and Montana, as the southern US becomes less and less welcoming.

It's the same reasoning that turned "innocent people killed because of our actions, even if they weren't our targets" into "collateral damage". It's passive voice jargonization. (In this case, "kinetic strike" sounds a lot less violent and ruthless than "blew up the little boat into bloody bits".)

This dude appears to combine the social skills of Musk, the human empathy of Zuckerberg, and the charisma of Nate Silver. Truly, the GOP is sending the best of the best.

Current right wing representations can only be heroic if you build out a fantasy narrative that there are Master Evils that only true right wing hardasses will be able to stop. Islamic terrorists in your Walmart! Litter box groomers at your school! Socialists coming to tax your 401k!

*"The Economy" being 400 billionaires in a trench coat
