I'm Faye Weaver, neurodivergent lefty queer with pronouns (she/her) doing my bit to turn the friggin' frogs gay. I make and play weird games while trying to survive amidst the blood-soaked machinery of capitalism.

Also just your friendly neighborhood reminder that Space Marines and the Imperial Guard are defenders of a ludicrously fascist, xenophobic, theocratic regime that was meant to be a satire of all the worst elements of a dystopia. Yet there are still people who will argue that they're the "good guys."

I really have nothing to add except "Whoaaahhhhh..."

This is great stuff, and something I feel like needs to be talked about more explicitly. Both for purposes of greater equity and inclusivity, and also because thinking about the relationships between players and the unspoken / invisible structures underlying them will, I think, lead to better games.

It’s definitely a coping mechanism but sometimes I can’t help but cackle at how absurdly fucked we are in like a dozen different ways 😂😂😭

THIS JUST IN! Trans people want to *gasp* exist and be happy!

YOU'LL NEVER BELIEVE IT!! Immigrants want fair treatment and opportunities for their children!

SCANDAL!!! People want basic protections and health care!

It's almost like that's by design.

All too true. Where the hell are my robot arms?! 😤

I have at least seen people wearing some very cool jackets. But I want FAR more jackets and also justice.

The others are rough but finishing the goddamn project might be the hardest one up there tbh.

😱 *screams internally* 😂😭😭😭

That's very good to know.

The tedium is a bit of an issue for my extremely ADHD brain, but I think I can cope if I get to do things I love.

What are the most tedious parts of it, would you say?

Thank you so much for writing this out! It's very helpful. How did you go about creating and supporting that trust? And getting eyes on your game? Just consistently putting things out and trying to make them the best quality you can? How did you promote them without being icky about it?

And here’s me happy that my one lil game on itch got some kind reviews and has made not quite a hundred bucks 😅

Ya know, it is honestly heartening to know that there are people out there who I’ve (respectfully) never even heard of (despite being pretty tapped into the TTRPG scene) that are still being this successful.

Not really a “system” per se but I’d recommend checking out the blog series on “The Three Clue Rule” written by The Alexandrian!

I can’t fucking stand passive aggressive bullshit. Maybe it’s the autism making it even more infuriating. But I would always so much rather someone just tell me to my face that they have a problem rather than leaving me to guess and infer.
January 20, 2026 at 6:18 PM
Totally! That’s my understanding too. And I’m definitely new to the publishing space. But like, what’s the pathway there? Or what’s been your pathway? Just a long, slow process of putting things out and trying to get em in front of people?

No worries! Your English is excellent, I think tweets (or whatever we call them here) are just not the best medium for complex communication 😛
