What was Kargl's company became the K&E Kargl Instrument Plant in San Antonio, TX. That's where my Dad worked.

I don't know about raising spiders but he told me a story about gathering spider thread for cross hairs. He told me that Gilard Kargl was standing on a table twirling a fork around when his future wife came in and asked him what he was doing. He told her he was gathering spider thread.

My Dad used to work for K&E. His plant specialized in optical tooling and instruments for aerial photography. He had a tie tack which was a slide rule.
