And on the outside of the trains, they have a bootleg CR logo 😆

Any news on their entry intro regular service? Think I read a couple of months ago about it being planned for some trains through the Koralm Tunnel

Freezing AC seems to be the standard on all their trains! Even the sleeper to Tumpat had it blasting 18 degrees all night

Ohh you got the brand new one!

A group bus tour doesn’t sound as appealing to me as just taking 2 cool trains (there is also a HSR station) and exploring at my own pace even if the section of the Wall isn’t quite as impressive. :D

Unfortunately, my plans to take the classic line to the Great Wall tomorrow (as recommended by the excellent @seatsixtyone.bsky.social page) have been hindered. It seems the line has been cut short at a disconnected station called Nankou sometime within the last couple of months. 😔

Should be! At least until Japan maybe gets theirs done

Because they will be running the Budapest-Belgrade ONLY, Soko trains. The CRRC EMU has been on test recently in HU.

Good thing the Vienna trains are basically just combined MAV ECs with MAV 182s and stock, so that should not need any new approvals on the Austrian side :-) www.vagonweb.cz/razeni/vlak....

1-2 generally. As far as I know the restrictions on some freight trains mostly applies to just tunnels. So any rules regarding this that limits capacity is much more impacting on Fehmarn than the drogden tunnel on the Øresundslink.

I'm not sure, but my guess is that the answer depends. There might be restrictions on which trains can be in the tunnel at the same time (Certain Cargo on some freight trains)

However realistically I'd think the real capacity constraints are around Ringsted and Lübeck Hbf.

Nope

Basically in conclusion: A proper regional service most likely requires new trains which has not been ordered yet. If that doesn’t happen, it’ll likely just be oddball stopping ECs at best and no a proper regional service.

Only been some vague press talk from SH and Region Sjælland about a wish for a regional service.
A 3rd option is to use a battery-train from the current Lokaltog tender, wires on the 25 kV stretch from Nykøbing, battery for the short German bit to Burg, to meet a German regional system. 3/4

The regional service would need new dual-system units, as the 15 kV/25 kV split happens on the fly about 2 km into Germany. So extending the new NAH.SH KISS or DSB’s IC5 just across the border isn’t possible. In guess in theory EB + Dosto could go across. Not sure if the Dostos work with EB 15kv 2/4

No one knows yet. On the Danish side there seem to be two options: A slow EC from CPH to Hamburg/Lübeck stopping at most smaller stations between Næstved and Lübeck, likely DSB Talgo every ~2 hours. Or some kind of regular regional system Lübeck–Nykøbing.
