There’s more to this. If you view everything as cringe you’re deeply disconnected from your emotions, you pursue the idea of needing to be “above others@ and to conceal your true self, and you are too vulnerable to establish sincere connections with otters. You want to seem, not to be.
cringe, as an idea, is a dead end. it’s a means of writing off sincerity and earnestness in pursuit of some ill-defined concept of above-it-all cool. letting it help define online culture was a mistake. if you view everything as cringe, you are living an empty life
Honestly I think people are too quick to use the word cringe. To me, cringe is when I’m a little secondhand embarrassed but it’s ultimately harmless. Nothing cringe about millions of people wanting to speak out
