My four biggest passions are speculative fiction, politics, art, and library and information studies, but this account will primarily be for posting my art. Recent MLIS graduate applying for academic librarian positions.

I would never accuse the Iraqi Army of being well trained or using a lot of restraint. And yet in Mosul I came to expect more discretion from the average Iraqi soldier than U.S. cops who have never taken incoming fire.
not for the first time I note these guys pulling shit that would have gotten you extremely killed in any actual insurgency situation

Pretty sure it's done. If I do anything more it'll just be more black in the yellows to make them look squishier #painting #art #abstractart #arte

Probably about 65% of the way done depending on the amount of detail I choose to add. Mostly fine lines and black outlining at this point, but may add more varieties of blues and bring some greens and purples to the front.

Have to go pick up some more paint markers. Planning on outlining the pink blue and yellow shapes with black lines of varying thickness, then removing the tape and adding more details

Seeing some of these Republicans Spotify wrapped always makes me wonder-- do racists who like rap music add the hard R when they sing along?

Accidentally lost this painting in Denver a few years ago. I was carrying too much stuff on the walk over to a friend's house to finish it, sat down on a bench, and walked away with everything but the painting. It was gone when I came back 25 minutes later. Oh well

Finished most of this while attending my very first sci-fi/fantasy convention over the last few days. Excellent panels, including one with Cory Doctorow and two library directors on the future of libraries, made some new friends, and had an amazing time hanging out with cool people.

First time I've ever participated in one of these. Discussion groups are fun and it's nice having smart friends.
