I think he's one of the worst, which is not a popular opinion.

He's not menacing, he's not compelling, he doesn't ever really seem like a threat and I don't get why anyone follows him.

Storywise it's not as strong as many others and I hate the main villain (not in a good way), but everything else is really well done. How far into it are you?

Nah they're still wrong. Genesis/MD shooters overall are still better 😁 The PCE definitely has its share of good ones, though.

I beat this game many times decades ago 😁 I remember a few harder parts toward the end, but it's been forever since I played it.
