Except, no, they weren't. AI has been in use since the mid 90s and SOC 2 and ISO27001 are both far more recent.

One thing that the physical security industry does really well, that the cyber security industry completely fails at is the legal aspects of the role.
This means that a newly trained security guard often knows more about the law and handling evidence than most CISOs do.

If you don't train staff on the basics of security (governance, risk, compliance, data protection, data classification, labelling and handling, etc.) how are they going to know how to keep themselves and everyone else safe?
