Imagine being institutionalized as a result of your experience killing the unstoppable robot monster, and years later you're executing your escape plan when you turn a corner and the robot monster is right there, uncrushed, walking toward you. Definitely a cardiac health check.

There was a game, Something Kingdoms... where you were a princess that threw cards to summon monsters to fight other monsters in real time 3d battles. But you weren't a disembodied God-view, you were right there in the battle evading and summoning. Fun and creative but clunky and the ai sucked

And if we just say Square-Enix, I'd go for Bushido Blade. A weapon-based fighting game where a hit to a limb cripples it, and a hit to the body or head kills. It was super cool and fun but held back by early 3d and lots of jank and bugs.

Right?! Remasters are for games where the tech of the day limited the vision, like 3d ps1 games, or CGA/EGA Sierra adventures.

Crono Trigger was not held back by the tech, it's an incredible example of what 32 bit sprites were capable of
