While it's not a stretch-goal, this is still a fantastic milestone for the project. And with all the other number-references we baked into our stretch goals, we thought we show off how one particular #sci-fi franchise has inspired us. #warhammer #40k

Lore: A ghost story from the edges of the brink. A lone rider, suit destroyed, aboard the fragments of a skip. It wields a blad of black flames, seeking a face to reflect its pain. HP give it a new head | Morale - | No Armor. Null-Fire Blade d12. Double damage against skips. If it slays a humanoid, it takes their head and retreats, satisfied for now.

The Dyson sphere space station was marketed as a solution to the Authority’s ever expanding need for energy. When the star beneath it burst into radioactive flames, it was thought lost. (like all our other hopes). Happenstance discovered the truth. An off-target skip shunted a reckless crew past the shell of plasma to find the sphere still intact and trapped in the interior of a quasi-star. With void beneath and conflagration above, what remains in within the halls of The Null Star? HGHTBL//JSTR: THE ONLY WISHING YOU’RE DOING ON THIS STAR IS TO GTFO HERE, HAHA! OH, *2* DAYS AWAY, BTW!

BLACK HOLE IMMINENT: None know what happens on the other side of an event horizon. Will you be the first to find out? HGHTBL//JSTR: DOUBT IT. When your skip crosses the event horizon, roll as many d4s, d6s, d8s, d10s, and d12s as you want. You have 30 seconds of real time to count up the total and tell it to your GM. If the math is wrong, you failed to count them all, or the total is less than 100, you die. (The “3” in “30 seconds” is exaggerated.)

Everyone needs water, and harvesting the ice from asteroids presents a quicker alternative than potable planet sources. But it comes with it’s own risks [d8]: 1-3: Safe extraction. 4: Pressurized gas pocket. Test Any DR14 or take 1d8 damage. Untethered extractors are jettisoned into space. 5: Heavy metal inclusion breaks your tools. Roll cargo die and decrease on fumble. 6: It’s a trap! Test Agility DR14 against ball bearing mines; 2d4 damage on failure. Pirate skips move in to loot the remains in d3 rounds. 7: H2NOT. Be it silicon dioxide or something else, this is the wrong type of ice. At least you only wasted time. 8: Not alone. Extractors attacked by alien life. After rolling for the hazard, add Ice to your cargo. It has the [Water] tag. Also roll your cargo die. If it crits, you can choose to add an additional [Water] tag to that cargo, or increase your cargo die; describe what else you found while mining the asteroid. User HGHTBLE//JSTR says “Did you drink your water today??? I hear Geist likes big water… or was it bog water?

The Harbingers aboard walk the deck with their space suits on, but otherwise unprotected. A Harbinger vessel fitted for harpooning, boarding, and subsequently converting those aboard. Stubborn converts are tied into the rigging, drug along as the ship skips 6 times. Survivors are part of the ship|crew. Those who don’t were never meant to fly. One hangs from the harpoon tethers. Unknown User, now resolved to HGHTBL//JSTR warns “DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO BOARD”. The 6, both in the lore text and the “26”, are emphasized.

Those who trade in Scourge Artifacts are relegated to dark corners and orbital trade for a reason. The Austere Flare was a staging ground for larger ships moving out towards the Brink. Decades of investment ~~and 8 million lives~~ were catastrophically transformed when a reckless trade arrived at its inevitable end.” The “8” is formatted more boldly to distinguish it from the text.

The sync loading bar is about 75% full. The O2 tracker is about 85% full. The Fuel tracker is about 50% full. The Ammo readout is a series of geometric jargon, hopefully understandable to any weapons specialist. Hull Integrity is Acceptable. The module information is displayed in a central UI/UX box. Heron-Class Bridge Module. Spacious construction leaves room for both crew and further ship enhancements. High fidelity visuals have an integrated thread detection system. And of course the latest safety & systems algorithms, capable of load balancing compute across dozens of modules while optimizing power draw. Learn more at morksol.com A sun burns in a raging sector of space, where blood red trails of burnt planets and violent nebula color the sky. An emblem stands prominent over this skyscape: a fist soaked in its own blood, clenched and raise; golden sunlight and burnt shadows form the fist, around which orbit three blood red suns. Lore Entry: Skirmishes between unnamed factions stoke the flames of a galaxy in constant battle. Most of these fights are forgotten; the names, faces, and causes lost to the perpetual proxy war for control. Out of these ashes, only one faction is spoken about - with reverence or vitriol. The Autonomous System Liberation Front a.k.a. Skorchers. The Skorchers were the military arm of the Autonomous Systems, who rose up against CoreSys to seek independence. Named for the burned earth they left in their wake, the faction’s symbol, a trio of suns in blood red, was proudly emblazoned on their space suits and skips. Their uprising was the first and last to breach The Authority, and that success became their downfall. Proven to be a true threat, CoreSec awoke the Wardens and unleashed their capital ships. The Autonomous Systems were ultimately massacred, but those who remember the war and its casualties can still be found across the Span.
