I was listening to NPR this morning, and they reported that ICE and Homeland Security have been doing checks at certain rest areas and weigh stations along the highways in those states. And honestly… the timing hits hard. Thanksgiving week is when families travel. It’s when people gather, reconnect, breathe for a moment. And it would make all the sense in the world for ICE to try to take people away during a time when it causes the most pain — when people are expecting to come home. When missing someone cuts a little deeper. So this is just a gentle warning from me to you: ✨ Please be aware of where you stop. ✨ Please check on your friends, especially those who might be vulnerable. ✨ Please pay attention to what’s happening around you. Nobody deserves to have their life ripped apart in a rest-area parking lot while the rest of the country is carving turkey. I’m not posting this to scare anyone — I’m posting it because the world feels heavy, and our systems aren’t always kind. Look out for each other. Keep your eyes open. Keep your people close. There is currently a trailer in parking lot next to law offices of Grubbe McGory Vermereen 1401 Cleveland Road, Sandusky 44870 Please place your wires in the BACK of the trailer in an orderly manner! Please do not throw aimlessly inside the trailer. Please separate the signs from the wires. The trailer will be available for recycling through Tuesday, November 11, 2025. If you miss recycling signs/wires window, please take your wires to Sandusky Steel and separate signs into cardboard, plastic bags and corrugated plastic. There are bins at Erie County Landfill, 10102 Hoover Road, Milan, where you can recycle cardboard in one bin and all the plastic in the mixed bin. You
