The depreciation associated with renewables is not just the rare earths and weather. Renewables depreciate by training renewables workers, which prevents them from doing more productive things. Energy use is as close to burning money as is legal to do.

To be clear, I don't think renewables are build and forget. I don't think any investment is permanent, except for unemployment insurance. Giving cash to the unemployed is the investment with the largest multiplier effect; it is only less than infinite because nothing is infinite.

That's it? I win? You admit calling renewables infinite is religious mumbo jumbo?
November 24, 2025 at 10:04 PM
You are the one claiming something is infinite or not. I'm just responding to you.
November 24, 2025 at 10:00 PM
Oh, by use up, you mean we could have virtually infinite energy from solar power? Be clear, or I will not know what to disagree with. In fact, we have lived experience to know it is miserable to use more than the global median amount of energy.

In fact, the sun is not infinite. But that is neither here nor there.
November 24, 2025 at 9:40 PM
Practically, they are both infinite.

There is some truth to your claim. I care more about voter sentiment than about mass exctinction. I want voters to hate big oil as much as I do. And renewables give them a false sense of security, so I hate renewables for giving big oil cover.

Yes, and you can't change your behavior after taking off your mask, so you will get arrested.

I know they are cutting down thousands of trees, because of the lorax in the OP.
November 24, 2025 at 3:45 AM
where are the thousands of trees they are cutting down?
November 24, 2025 at 3:33 AM
cutting down thousands of trees for no published reason. i'm shure they could come up with an excuse, the the real reason is to demoralize environmentalists.
November 24, 2025 at 3:31 AM
the plan is to cut down thousands of trees. the cruelty is the point.
