Issue 3 has been out for about a month now, and it's always fun looking at the sales data. For example, one day this past month someone in Spain bought a copy of Issue 2. Not the first issue, not the most recent issue. Issue 2. You get some intriguing data sometimes, and we'll most likely never

We're still wrapping up final touches for the rough draft of Issue 3, and in the meantime thought we'd give everyone a sneak peak of this issue's gorgeous cover art by @moravianart.bsky.social! Now we just have to figure out the best way to arrange all the author names...

Thrilled to announce that Issue 3 of In Another Time Magazine will feature an interview with @lollardfish.bsky.social this year! This issue will be reminiscent of an illuminated manuscript (with rather less gold leaf), so we're delighted to be able to interview an author and medieval historian!
David M. Perry is a medieval historian and freelance journalist, covering politics, history, education, and disability rights. With Matthew Gabriele, he’s the author of The Bright Ages: A New History of Medieval Europe and newly published Oathbreakers: The War of Brothers that Shattered an Empire and Made Medieval Europe.

Just brushing up the website to get ready for our magazine opening for submissions in two days (can you believe it???). We've gotten some very good news today for Issue 3, and also found out that Submission Grinder has a logo you can put on websites! Good day all around!

Stay tuned for the full🧵 And in the meantime happy to answer questions here, or through email: inanothertimemagazine@gmail.com What we loved about “The Beginning” by @AustinJD14 Optimism? ✅ Story includes dog (and not in a John Wick way)? ✅ Delicate yet thorough world building? ✅ Kind of story that you want to read over and over again and smile? What we loved about “World” by @melanixies Trees? ✅ Trees as a metaphor for life? ✅✅ Trees as a metaphor for life that defiantly stands up to nihilism? ✅✅✅ Only just now realizing this poem is not explicitly scifi/fantasy. But it works for any world, anyplace, anytime... What we loved about “Devonian Fishing” by @McardleJeanne Ancient fish and cool aliens? ✅ Conservation messaging? ✅ Cool sci-fi premise that also introduces an interesting morale question? ✅✅✅ What we loved about “The Debt Owed to the Lady of the Lake” by @timjmajor Okay. I don't really understand what exactly went on in this story. Which I LOVED. Is this a modern retelling of Arthur and his round table? No. Is it compelling and spooky and well written? ✅✅✅ What we loved about "Glass” by David McGillveray Time travel (NOT something we usually like) handled in an interesting way ✅ The ending. I know that's vague. Let's just say, sometimes ending with a bold gamble works for both writers and characters... sometimes... What we loved about "The Ghost in the Machine” by Mike Lewis Interesting narrative choice? ✅ Cool Sci-Fi/Fantasy premise? ✅ THE ENDING ✅👀✅ This was one of the shortest of the short stories, but boy does it carry a punch! What we loved about "Scientific Expedition” by John Grey Immersive poetry that takes you to an alien world? ✅ Beautiful concept of ways of communicating with aliens? ✅ The connectivity of silence, or the profound joy of exploration? ✅✅✅

Hello writers & artists & readers! IAT is an annual SciFi/Fantasy Magazine for short stories, flashes, & poetry. We're happy to be moving over to where the skies are blue, and will be posting updates soon about Issue 3!
