I used this exact argument recently. 35k commuters at minimum wage saving five minutes per work day is around $12mm of productivity. Alternatively, 200 parking spots would need five people per car turning over the spot every twenty minutes to service 35k people per day. It just doesn’t add up

Not all MPs show up all the time, but for key confidence votes it will be interesting. Can MPs vote virtually now or do they need to be in person?

Thank you! I’ve voted in every election I have been eligible and we delay our voting so we can take our kids so they understand how important it is to vote. It is a privilege and a responsibility not many have

A part of the solution might be to say “no election result is valid without 50% of registered votes”. Parties would have to bring enough good ideas for voters to show up, not just attack each other. There are downfalls to the approach, but how can <50% turn out be a democracy?
