Book #7 of 2026: The Long Game by Rachel Reid

Finally finishing the series (at least the currently published books). A great ending to the series and a nice quick check in with most of the other book characters. And it was nice to not have so many time jumps this time around.

Book #6 of 2026: The Dragon Reborn by Robert Jordan

Back into the world of Aes Sedai, the Dark One, and the Forsaken with the third book in the Wheel of Time series, I love how Robert Jordan can bring three mostly separate story lines together at the end so seamlessly.

The one good thing about all this Kennedy Center nonsense is that DC has a few other theaters/stages that will hopefully get more business because of this.

I have loved the A*Teens since high school and they have a new song for the first time in 22 years and are competing in Melfest. It’s the little things to make 2026 bearable!

A total of 1,731 pages read during 1,637 minutes across 6 books in January 2026. As nerdy as it sounds, I enjoy being able to keep track of my reading progress.

I hate doing job interviews (on both sides). When I’m interviewed, I’m not great at talking myself up as I usually just let my work do the talking for me. And when I’m doing the interviewing, I’m usually wondering about how much they are saying is BS.

The HOA sent an 8 paragraph email about why pretreatment of the roads in the community will not work with this storm and the last paragraph says they are doing it anyway because people complained. This area becomes stupid during snow.

Book #5 of 2026: Role Model by Rachel Reid

The fifth book of the Game Changers series and a quick read for me. I liked the themes the book tackled outside of the romance as well as the fact that there was no fake relationship drama this time around. Probably my second favorite of the series so far.

Book #4 of 2026: Winterkill by C.J. Box

The third book of the Joe Pickett series with a bit of a darker turn on the character and series. The antagonist reminded me of a certain "security" secretary even though it was published back in 2003.

How many more years will I need to work due to this upcoming market crash that’s about to happen?

Book #3 of 2026: Common Goal by Rachel Reid

Book 4 of the Game Changers series and a bit better than the last one. It was nice to see some old characters return in the background and keep the overall world moving forward. The ending felt rushed again, but that seems to be a consistent occurrence.

Book #2 of 2026: All Systems Red by Martha Wells

A short book that kicks off the Murderbot Diary series. I like reading the source material before watching shows or movies based on them, so now I can (finally) check out Murderbot.

Book #1 of 2026: Tough Guy by Rachel Reid

My least favorite of the first 3 Game Changers series, I enjoyed the first half of the book with the character building, but the conflict felt forced and the ending rushed. A few more chapters could have made this a more complete story.
