While I agree with most of this, I would point out that Taylor Swift is a billionaire, and her wealth was built mostly from her music and massive touring. Melinda Gates and MacKenzie Scott became billionaires through marriage. All three ladies are philanthropists and have also given away billions.

looked me up and down and asked how much I cost. I was frightened, shocked, and felt like even though I didn't let him buy the last of my childhood, his attempt robbed me of it anyway. Stuff like this should never happen to children.

FDR had a similar background but turned out to be very good for normal Americans. I wouldn't qualify or disqualify him because of his family. He has to prove his own worth.

I heard something a while back about how our two-party system has devolved into nothing more than corporate brands — and while they appear to be opponents on the surface, they’re actually helping each other make money, like Pepsi and Coke.
