Portrait of Tameryraptor markgrafi, a carcharodontosaurid from the Late Cretaceous of Bahariya Formation (Egypt). Its remains have long been attributed to Carcharodontosaurus, but it is distinguished by the presence of a small horn on its nose and symmetrical teeth.

An adult Ceratosaurus nasicornis caught juvenile Torvosaurus tanneri. These theropods, like an Allosaurus, were found in the famous Morrison Formation, but their remains are much less common. Despite some differences in food sources, they competed and killed each other from time to time.

Portrait of dinosauromorph Pisanosaurus mertii from the Late Triassic of Argentina. It was either basal ornithishian (as classified initially) or silesaurid. In any case this animal was herbivore or omnivore a little more than a meter long. Neck filaments are speculative.

Duonychus tsogtbaatari, a therizinosaurid from the Late Cretaceous of Bayanshiree Formation (Mongolia). It's known by partial postcranial skeleton including dorsal vertebrae and both forelimbs. Duonychus has only two manual digits, with big and curved claws.

Portrait of Riparovenator milnerae, a baryonychine spinosaurid from Early Cretaceous of Isle of Wight. Remains of this theropod previously were assigned to Baryonyx. In this work I painted color on a black base - an unusual experience! Done in Adobe Photoshop.

Colored portrait sketch of Troodon formosus, a troodontid theropod from the Late Cretaceous of USA and Canada. It was initially described by tooth as a lizard and then referred to pachycephalosaurids. Later it became clear that Troodon was a bird-like theropod.

Today I downloaded Gimp and did some work in it. It was a lot of fun using the different tools! The result was this portrait of a random megaraptoran. Megaraptora is a clade of possible coelurosaurs (or even tyrannosauroideans) with forelimbs adapted for capture of prey.

Intasuchus sylvicola, a intasuchid temnospondyl from Middle Permian of Komi Republic (Russia). It was an animal with 20-25 cm skull reinforced with ridges. Intasuchus is part of Inta faunal assemblage. In this drawing proportions were based on probably related Glanochton latirostre.

Detailed sketch of metriacantosaurid Alpkarakush kyrgyzicus from Middle Jurassic of Kyrgyzstan. This large theropod is known by two partial specimens (subadult and juvenile) from Balabansai Formation. The material includes bones from hindlimbs and postorbital with large boss.

Portrait of meridiungulate Pyrotherium romeroi from the Late Oligocene of Argentina. The skull of this big herbivore was massive, with an elongated nostril, so that it could have had a short trunk. Because of this, Pyrotherium was previously classified as a relative of elephants.

Parasaurolophus walkeri came to drink water somewhere in Late Cretaceous Canada. This is one of the most famous hadrosaurs. It's notable feaure is long crest with internal hollows.

The plants on drawing include mosses, ferns and aquatic monocot Cobbania corrugata (Araceae).

Lusovenator santosi, a Late Jurassic carcharodontosaur from Portugal. It was described from incomplete specimen from Lourinha Formation in 2020. I did much of this drawing last year and fixed some details recently. Based on skeletal by @sassypn.bsky.social.

Speculative portrait sketches of megaraptorid Maip macrothorax from Late Cretaceous of Argentina. It's known by incomplete postcranial skeleton, and we usually reconstruct its head based on other megaraptorids. But what if Maip had a bit different head shape (right sketch)?

Portrait of coelurosaur Huadanosaurus sinensis from Yixian Formation. This theropod is known by small immature specimen with feathers on tail. Its skull has some tyrannosauroid-like features, leading some scientists to suggest it may be a young Yutyrannus or similar taxon.

Trying new gel pens in my craft paper sketchbook. 🙂 This is portrait sketch of Diademodon tetragonus, big herbivorous or omnivorous cynodont from Middle Triassic of Africa and Argentina. It had very wide postorbital part of head with big muscles for food prossesing. I decided to draw it hairless.

Portrait sketch of Suchomimus tenerensis, one of spinosaurids known by relatively complete remains. It was very big theropod with long and thin jaws for seizing small prey. Suchomimus lived in Early Cretaceous Niger along with other unusual dinosaurs and diverse crocodylomorphs.
