Forgotten Realms wiki volunteer, impossibly relentless.
Accidentally deleted some of my critical files for updating the database. I... really gotta crank out some better way to do V.O.L.O. updates.

So, Trial by Shadow's probably not going to get me any further. It was 2012, and in javascript, and it was torched by 2015. Other weirdness?

this page exists. But in Archive dot org's records, there's no such page as the one I just linked and been looking at.

Funny thing while sifting for Spellfire artist credits:

-There's Erik Olson
-There's Eric Olson
-There's Erik K Olsen
-There's NO Eric Olsen

Erik Olson's the TSR artist. He's not Eric Olson, SF freelancer who signed as EO. They aren't Erik K. (with 2 Ks!) Olsen, who was miscredited as Eric Olsen.

@mearls.bsky.social Hi! Sorry to bother you again, I wanted to ask about WotC in 2012. Would you happen to know who was in the R&D team to which this championship tournament is credited? I'm from the FR wiki, and I had a few questions :)

I guess we'll always have something more to fix, huh?

Anyway, I'll get back on the beat tomorrow.

So, there may be more on the Masters of Absolute Accord, the Imaskarcana, and perhaps even Undrek'Thoz and the Monks of the Blackened Fist.

GenCon 2012 had this adventure, "Trial by Shadow". I was able to glean a link to a thread where it was discussed. Can't find backups tho lol

Trying to sort out the 5e era files is one hell of a struggle. I'm not givin' up, though.
December 26, 2025 at 1:38 AM
I think I've figured out how to sort out all but 480 pages from 5th edition's archives, put them in a searchable, adequate shape. I'll continue tomorrow.

Workin' on 5th edition web goodies now. It's a mess.

So it's a good thing I'm on cleanup.

So, I am going over 5e files, tryina get my scripts to label each for my listings, and I come across this.

If you click on that ad, you get a PDF with a demon lord's stats. No, really.

I wonder what's the deal with that?

Hey, remember Stawicki's covers for The Rage, The Rite, the Ruin, by R. Lee Byers?
Turns out, the Rage and the Rite were part of the same piece. I thought so was the Ruin and Realms of the Dragons I and II - turns out, not so.

A fan of the Realms had a copy of the Annotated Elminster promotional wallpapers at max resolution, and they were willing to share.

Let's make sure those don't get lost again.

I found the last two Spellfire artists. Almost entirely by... a flash of insanity. I just thought about where else Charles Keegan might've worked, and found out about TSR's "Treasure Tales". Took a look.

There it was. A texture match. Signed, at that!

Alright, tried with the AMAZING STORIES magazine artists. Not a lot of answers, but hey, it's Friday.

All that's left for trying is going through comicartfans' database, and maybe by chance catch art that looks similar to the last Spellfire artist.

Or I could get back to my own art for once...

It's hard to believe that I only wanted to work quietly in my corner and not get involved... and I ended up getting involved, did so much work in so many areas with great fans, and shepherded it for 13 of those years through lows and highs, and never looked back. All worth it.

btw, all the artists for each issue of AMAZING were already collected in this website. How inefficient of me!

Combed through all of AMAZING STORIES from the 1982 acquisition to TSR through the WotC tenure to 2000. Found 210 names, 133 are new.

Seems like a lot! Bet plenty of duplicates.

So, went over AMAZING STORIES magazine for a bit. Missing 15 of them, but I think I'll make do. Interesting things found. Like these covers. :)

Accidentally deleted my Chron-X and Legend of the Five Rings list of artists in the process. Oh well, I'd already gone over those, heh.
