It's so cool to deny this guy parole based on a "dehumanizing attitude" when you oversee the state with the 4th highest homeless population and the most regressive tax code in America
After a careful, thorough review of the record, I am issuing an order canceling parole for Timothy Pauley, who is serving a maximum term of life in prison for a triple murder he committed nearly 45 years ago. Read the full order here: governor.wa.gov/sites/defaul...

As another Trump-induced market crisis unfolds from tariffs, it's time we ask "What's the Matter with Billionaires?" I've run the numbers. Billionaires do better under Dems. So why do billionaires keep supporting GOP policies against their economic interests? See my latest piece on why. (TLDR 🧵⬇️)

When leaders reject universal policies they present us an impossible moral choice of voting in someone else's interests. Should we accept that a just world hinges on the inclination of affluent people to freely give away their political capital?

If you are a cis person *please* take 2 minutes to do this. Trans people with non-updated gender markers, historical gender marker changes, and X markers are terrified to travel right now; rolling back this policy would mean a lot.
Public comment is now open for passport gender marker changes.

You can go here to go to each of the three proposed passport rules, and submit comment.

My suggestion: be unique, argue for trans-inclusive policies, against the constitutionality of the changes, etc.

One thing the US failed to address in any sort of meaningful way over the past 4 years: The housing crisis. Young and even middle-age people are increasingly cut out of homebuying.

Situation likely to worsen in coming 4 years with tariffs, deportation of immigrants, & high interest rates.
Median age of homebuyers just hit a new record high of 56

Although the case for at least 20 years, it has been unbearably obvious through last two presidents. Key is that unemployment, or U-3, is already a heavily qualified indicator (over 50% of Americans do not have employment, but we do not consider them unemployed for reasons of various suitability).
Perspective: Voters were right about the economy. The data was wrong, writes former U.S. Comptroller Gene Ludwig.

Ludwig on why inflation and unemployment are worse than they seem👇

Here’s why unemployment is higher, wages are lower and growth less robust than government statistics suggest.

"Resist" is very bad. Assumes permanent curled-into-ball posture, extremely vague, private, and promises nothing but to slow the inevitable. A very dem-friendly slogan that sneakily inverts reality, which is that the only way OUT is through a massive, economically populist counteroffensive.
