FWIW most toolchains allow targeting an earlier SDK version to get an extra couple of years, even after the runner version is updated, in order to build _compatible_ binaries (if not test them on the older version). The Intel EOL is a different story though. Have not figured out how to handle that.

Is this about runner OS versions, or is there a new policy?

FWIW, highly recommend looking at pixi.sh — uses condapackages, but with lockfile, even faster solver, better management of pypi deps, and extremely fast across the board. (it’s from several of the developers of mamba)

(also briefly poked at an idea of putting such references in git’s most obscure feature — git notes — but they might be obscure for a reason…)

Chat is useful but it needs really strong guardrails to prevent being the center of gravity. Slack is kind of a PLG morass in direct opposition to providing those capabilities.

Yes. And beware that it hasn't been able to install a key package in scientific Python ecosystem, numba, for months now, which breaks many downstream packages: github.com/astral-sh/uv...

(can recommend pixi as a fast conda replacement — created by same authors as mamba)

The LLM knows math at all times. It knows math by knowing what is not math. By subtracting what is math from what is not math, or subtracting what is math from what is not math, it obtains a deviation (derivative). The guidance system uses derivatives to drive the output from what is not math to…
