Many of these posts came from fake, foreign-based MAGA accounts.

NEW: Maryland Democrats are moving swiftly toward redrawing the state’s congressional map to counter GOP gerrymanders.

The latest? House representatives just introduced a measure outlining a plan for new maps, and a committee is slated to hear the redistricting bill next Monday.

Monsters. Irredeemable. Unreformable.

There is no technical or administrative fix for this, this is not a matter of training. This isn’t about policy at all.

As a matter of democratic self-defense, ICE must not be tolerated.
ICE detain yet another minor child—chase him down his own street and tackle him to pavement.

"I am legal! I am legal!" he cries over and over in Spanish.

Agent pins the boy down in snow—he desperately tries to keep his exposed hands from freezing at -25°F wind chill temperature.

This is a lie. Every report I’ve seen from people on the ground has said that a family member and observers begged to take the child and they wouldn’t let them. And now the child is in Texas detention facility. The child was detained. The child was detained. They detained and incarcerated a child.
ICE spokesperson Marcos Charles: "My officers stayed with the child. They cared for him. Took him to get something to eat from a drive-thru restaurant and spent hours ensuring he was taken care of. Again, my officers did that, not his father ... his family refused to open the door and take him back"

Another question I came here with was: how effective are the whistles and honking? Does it stop abductions? And the answer is, surprisingly to my cynical self, yes, and often. I have talked to so many people who have successfully interrupted kidnappings.

After a sweeping, Republican-led review of more than 2 million voter registrations, Utah election officials identified just one apparent noncitizen in their voter rolls — who never voted. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
Utah reviewed its voter rolls for noncitizens. It found one. Who never voted
The results sharply undercut the narrative of widespread noncitizen voting Republicans are using to promote new nationwide restrictions on voting.

Rep. Greg Steube: "You see Macron and the French sending troops to Greenland. I would love to see the US military up against French troops in Greenland, because it would not last very long. It would be a very small skirmish ... we don't care about what Macron and the French want."
