#Foleo: I've flirted with Fame, but we've never dated seriously.
I don't make art to earn a living. I live to make #art.
I was once asked: Do you earn a good living making art? "As good of one as did Van Gogh, Gauguin, Modigliani or Vermeer," replied I.
At times, my mind is an alchemical stew of ideas, streams of consciousness, roaring rivers of thought, revealed adventures of human experiences translated into visual packages of intrigue.
Being an artist is shooting the rapids of a raging human mind.

Foleo: An artist spends days, weeks, months, even years on a work of art. It isn't a product, it's a concretion of the human experience, a visual essay of the existential travail most define as life. Artists are generous enough to share these treasures, to infuse a modicum of magic into the mundane.

“Art, like jazz, is full of diverse dazzling diamonds of creative exuberance that provide human beings broader perspectives on the comedies and tragedies that characterize our lives. A wee bop, do dop doobie do, visual jazz is what I do.” ― Foleo : 'Jazz Picnic' - mixed media artwork, color critical

“In every human being there is the #artist, and whatever his activity, he has an equal chance with any to express the result of his growth and his contact with life. I don't believe any real artist cares whether what he does is 'art' or not. Who, after all, knows what art is?”

Son convicted, sentenced to life for shooting and beheading father; Police say fast food manager dies after being stabbed by co-worker; Man pinned, killed by his own truck after he forgot to put it in park; Health officials say patient dies in emergency room from plague

Meanwhile, in my art studio.

Visual art is silent.
It exists on its own.
It is up to a viewer to add his or her narrative or soundtrack to the experience - making it a more personal encounter, allowing each to have a more meaningful interaction.
The art maintains its mystery.
Some #art presumes to be a more immortal expression.

The haunting eyes of passing ages gaze
blindly across eons of lost lifetimes
and eroded, forgotten memories.
Immortality is overrated.
Dry bones are left for scavengers.
Broken statues are slowly subsumed
as history writes later chapters
that may well become myths
in the minds of subsequents.

“No man has the right to dictate what other men should perceive, create or produce, but all should be encouraged to reveal themselves, their perceptions and emotions and to build confidence in the creative spirit.”
― Ansel Adams

“Art is never for those faint of mind. Art's always intrepid.”
