His head on a pillow, hand over one of their children's chest, mouth opened slightly and a small curve to his lips that indicates he's sleeping peacefully.

Hua Cheng had been so entranced with telling their children the story, eyes locked into their matching features, Xie Lian's nose, his brows, a small dimple in one of their cheeks that his god says resembles his mother's, that when he lifts up his gaze, expecting to see

then it's not long for their little eyes to begin to close, small yawns being heard with every sentence Hua Cheng ends, trying to keep themselves awake to hear how the story ends.

A futile battle that ends with them snoring softly before they can get to the good part.

The ghost king clears his throat then, making Xie Lian let out a small snort as he exaggerates his voice and begins to tell a story, a tale about ancient dragons and kingdoms lost to time.

The children /oooh!/ and /ahhh!/ when something particularly interesting happens but even

children to help him out, promising a bedtime story if they settle for the night.

Suddenly all the kids let their mama tuck them beneath the covers and press small kisses to their heads, but even then they can stop their excitement as they giggle in bed.
