My writing advice? Make everything difficult for yourself, so your readers feel sorry for you.
A narrative relationship chart showing a very reasonable handful of characters and the way they connect with one another. A much better relationship chart, featuring more characters with messier, sexier relationships. This image contains vague spoilers for book 2 of my comic, but is nearly impossible to parse by anyone but me. It's also missing several connections. If anything it needs a 3D graph.

Sassy gets caught being jealous of Arena, because Claire thinks she's talking about Lori. It's actually totally fine to be jealous of Lori, she wouldn't be that upset about it. Claire breaks the 4th wall, or rather bends Sassy around it, because she's confused. This is to remind you that, despite all the talking, this is still a cartoon. Claire now knows what freaked Arena out and thinks that Sassy is really mean (complimentary).

Sassy explains her pause about bothering to get tested for autism, or even accept it as a possibility, and reveals it's because she's stressed about a weird idea she had. Claire gets mad at Sassy for being frivolous with her marriage after having a rocky romantic life for all of her twenties and some of her thirties. Sassy claims it's because Gates is a very easy person to be married to. Claire mentions her love of being creampied after Sassy shares her pregnancy woes with her. We've all been there. Sassy makes a ham-handed segue. Sassy relays her own version of the story of Gates giving Lori the engagement ring she bought for her, even though the real story is that Gates bought the ring too long before proposing to return it, and it wasn't worth enough to hock.

Sassy tries to explain the way colleges actually work, which no one cares about, and then transitions to talking about a stim toy Sassy is evasive about the possibility of her being autistic, Claire is trying to be supportive about it. Part 13 "Two Bisexual Neurodivergent Divorcees Attempt to Have Multiple Conversations at the Same Time" Claire Southie, a skunk, and Dr. Sassolina Gasongas are having a video call. Claire just finished explaining to Sassy that she's going to try to marry her ex-husband's soon-to-be-ex-wife so that SHE keeps custody of the children. Sassy thinks that Claire shouldn't be surprised if she gets a "no," as this is an absurd plan cooked up by a woman who was very likely high as hell on edibles when she thought of it. But, she still thought it was a good idea when she sobered up, which is telling. Sassy suggests that Claire may have to give up sex work as a condition of marrying her children's stepmom, and Claire isn't happy about it, as she is responsible as a sex worker, and has absolutely had a much more vitriolic version of this conversation plenty of times.

Lori storms off from Gates, not to be seen in-person again for years, only sending the occasional email to check in. Gates suggests that this all worked out just fine and that the story has a happy ending. She mentions that she DID eventually give the ring back to Lori, but a cut-away reveals that it was the emotionally destroy Scum, a sort of positive form of revenge? I guess? An overly elaborate come-on? Lori is delighted to feel completely unburdened about doing some butch shit to her fiancee, Scum is delighted in a way that it's unlikely she had experienced before HRT. Gates makes a comment about Lori's pussy being a trans girl factory.

Arena and Gates are chatting about what a date actually is. They are both dressed in fancy garb. Arena is wearing a black headband, a fire flower necklace, and a slinky blue-green dress to match her eyes, while Gates is wearing a shiny purple dress, a collar and pigtails. She feels weird about putting her hair up like this, but knows it's a thing for Arena so she's dealing with it. Arena is having the approach to dating explained to her while eating soup. Gates has already finished most of hers. Gates talks about proposing and being told to fuck off, which transitions to a flashback. In the flashback, a pre-transition Gates is proposing to Lori Pointilleux, a rabbit librarian, dressed in a tight, shiny blue dress. The "film quality" is atrocious compared to anything we've seen thus far.

Marguff has decided that he dislikes Latin Freestyle, a genre that only lasted for a short period of time but has some true bangers. He shits on the record. In the last panel it is revealed that this group's lead singer is Sassy's mother. It is also haphazardly revealed that Sassy's parents were not married when she was born, which, honestly fuck you if that matters to you. It is strongly implied that this is the event that precipitated their divorce.
