Rasam is such a delightful gamut of flavours - tamarind, garlic, tomato, cumin, mustard seeds. And with stylish understatement after the drama of onion sambar.

Duo at a cafe today was a model type in rebonded hair & heels with a kurta and jeans type. Then I overheard them talking about investments, deadlines and workplaces. So many stereotypes in my own head busted. Turned out it was a biz meeting between a finance professional & recruiter.

I get that. I do listen to a few select podcasts when I’m cooking only. They’re on serious subjects so I see them sort of as audiobooks on nonfiction. About an hour and half of dedicated listening when I do that.

I don’t enjoy audiobooks. Something about the audio medium is too disruptive for me. I prefer text.

I’ve not been able to enjoy a Pratchett book in full in the past as it feels like he starts great and loses steam. So I was surprised I made it through nearly half of this one before I even looked up and realised it was 2 a.m. It’s good to know this is one of the good ones.
