I got this useful bon mot from a middle school teacher recently.

In response to, “I DONT UNDERSTAND,” he calmly said, “okay what steps have you taken to understand?”

And that’s when I realized that a lot of folks have no steps.

They must eat really well around here because the raccoons in my yard are always big chonky boys.

It’s very dark. I could only see their eyes flashing, so I used the long exposure setting on my phone to see them.

I always escort jumping spiders out. I can’t kill something that can look me in the eye like that.

Anyway this box elder bug fell off the remote and flipped over so I tried to help him out and then it took forever to get him off my hand because he decided it was a cool place to chill.

99% of the time I’m live and let live with the smaller creatures of the world.

I feel guilty because I had to kill a black widow in the laundry room the other night. I just couldn’t risk one of my idiot pets trying to mess with it and it wasn’t in a place for easy capturing and I really can’t risk baby black widows hatching in the house.

I feel bad when I hear about people spraying to kill them. All they want is a box elder tree and it’s winter so they can’t have that.

Box elder bugs are completely harmless. I don’t even throw them out of the house. Though sometimes I have to rescue them because they are so stupid.
