Bird nerd, Tali's person, master naturalist, Boise State alum, 4th gen Idahoan and former Alaskan.
That and this building were the last ones I photographed in Arco. Remember Green (and Gold) Stamps?

A friend from Alaska traveled to her parents' home in WV, and this was on their door when she arrived today. Too funny.

Look at these yahoos, with nary a care in the world on Thanksgiving Day. I counted 32 of them. Gobble 'til you wobble!

Happy Thanksgiving! Ride that bird (or tofurkey) hard today!

Indulging my husband. This is going to be a looong evening for me.

I saw these two at last year‘s Postmodern Jukebox concert. I might need to borrow my aunt’s mink stole that my sister ended up with for next month’s show.

I’m in love with this book. I bought it as a Christmas gift, but I’m going to keep it or buy another copy.

I love the look of the newest Little Free Library near our house, but it's so small it only can fit little paperbacks. Sadly, my older eyes and hands don't like those anymore.

Like this one.

My first night out in forever! Boise friends, if you’ve never been to “Story Story Night,” you are really missing out. Teacher Sarah Inama of the “Everyone is Welcome Here” poster (unwanted) fame had us all laughing and crying and cheering.

Mine are all dead. #PBS

Yep, I’m regretting feeding one of the squirrels in our yard. I was sitting on the couch, looked left, and screamed at this two feet away. It’s like I’m in a squirrel zombie movie now.

How in the heck is it possible for a little dog to snore as loud as my husband?!!

A #Caturday memory, starring our last batch of foster kittens a few years ago. Sound on.

I have no idea what’s gotten into me and bet I’ll regret this. I usually have zero fondness for the squirrels in my yard.

One of my little houseguests has already made a new friend.

One of the neighborhood Wild Turkeys encountered another hazard of living in an urban area: power lines. That's three lost in one week, two to an evil driver, and one trying to pre-cook itself for Thanksgiving.

Yo, Tulsi! Tulsi, are you there?
November 20, 2025 at 3:53 PM
Boy, does this bring back memories. Though I think we had a radio instead of a liquor cabinet on one side. Mostly I remember how long it took for the television tubes to warm up. Still less frustrating than my newish flatscreen TV.

He was an education owl from the Bird Treatment & Learning Center in Anchorage. Ghost's handler would come to Fairbanks once or twice/year to do owl programs with Earl & me. Both birds had been hit by cars and couldn't fly, so they became ambassadors.

I miss the days when I had a Snowy Owl stay at my house (even if he was kind of judgey).

Ha ha! And nicely frozen for your wearing pleasure.

It was bound to happen. Two of the male Wild Turkeys that have made our neighborhood their home were run over yesterday, possibly deliberately. I'm only surprised it didn't happen sooner. Photo from earlier this year.

Sigh. I'd hate to be sight impaired or use a wheelchair in Boise's North End. Too many jerks don't shovel snow from their sidewalks or trim branches that stick out at eye level. I've posted multiple offers to shovel if they can't--back when I could. And then this--just on one short walk. Grrr.

I’m glad I got to laugh at the first comment before it disappeared.
