Rayner has just had to resign for what the public sees as corrupt behaviour. How is she the answer. The media would love it though, she wouldn't even get a honeymoon period.

It is not uncommon for the sitting government to have a disaster at local elections. So why would that mean Starmer has to resign.
February 6, 2026 at 8:38 AM
It won't, Starmer isn't the problem. They don't want Labour in power.
February 5, 2026 at 11:07 PM
I should have added 'Labour' may not be perfect. I would never vote Reform or Conservative.
February 5, 2026 at 1:32 PM
We went through this back before Trump visited and Mandelson resigned. The fact that Mandelson is even worse than we all thought doesn't change the debate. Starmer isn't more guilty by association. Move on
February 5, 2026 at 9:13 AM
If the Labour government falls we get Reform. They may not be perfect but they are so much better than anything else on offer. Never let perfect be the enemy of the good, a James O'Brien saying, I think. Although even he is piling in right now.

The media frenzy to get Starmer out is off the scale. Week in week out it's will Starmer survive this. And if they eventually get their way they will move onto his replacement. It seems to be their raison d’être
February 5, 2026 at 8:12 AM
Why, a conman conned them. We all knew he was an associate of Epstein, but none of us expected him to be that corrupt. Starmer took a gamble that Mandleson was the right kind of person to handle Trump. It back fired but I think before knowing what I know now it was a gamble worth taking.

I find the media frenzy obscene.
February 4, 2026 at 9:06 PM
What would you do Zack?
February 2, 2026 at 9:34 AM
He was played by the media, believing he was the Messiah.
January 29, 2026 at 6:02 PM
John hates Keir and is happier in opposition than government. He always lets perfect be the enemy of the good.
January 26, 2026 at 7:19 PM
We don't all see Burnham as the Messiah in Labour. The man is on an ego trip. The government doesn't need months of will he won't be, there is a country to try and turn around.
January 26, 2026 at 7:15 PM
Really so weeks of will be won't he over Andy won't harm him. It's all we will hear for weeks rather than what is being achieved.
January 23, 2026 at 11:48 AM
He isn't seen as the Messiah by all of us in Labour. We need a period of stability as things are slowly improving. Starmer has had a very good week, although you wouldn't know it by the press.
January 23, 2026 at 11:40 AM
There is nothing I would love more than for Keir Starmer to tell Trump to f off. However it would appear that he took the right approach as Trump has backed down without us having to suffer any consequences. Being in government/diplomacy isn't always easy or comfortable.
January 23, 2026 at 8:53 AM
Is he popular?
January 22, 2026 at 5:19 PM
To be fair he was Reform before Reform even existed.
January 18, 2026 at 10:18 PM
The media is trying very hard to make her look credible
January 18, 2026 at 11:23 AM
And when our economy nose dives are you happy to share the blame
January 17, 2026 at 6:12 PM
So why has she joined a party that doesn't
January 8, 2026 at 7:31 AM
That's not what I'm reading.
January 4, 2026 at 6:49 PM
I'm not starting until the 5th of January, when I'm back at work.
January 1, 2026 at 5:25 PM
I engage my brain and listen to the message. We aren't all performers
