The 2025 IBA Council election opened 18 Nov 2025 and will close 15 Dec 2025.

Scientists once speculated polar bears may enter a state of “walking hibernation” during fasting periods, but research disproved this. They lack the ability to withstand long fasts by triggering physiological changes like those seen in hibernating animals. pbears.org/4dOYGJZ
