Last night just before bed, I downloaded the Student Mental Health & Depression Indicators Dataset from Kaggle, loaded the CSV file into Gemini Pro (thinking rather than fast mode) and said “Draw an infographic based on the trends you see in this dataset”. Within 20 seconds I got this.

Any good?

Gemini 3 looks like it has some pretty advanced reasoning on board. What one professor saw when he inadvertently got subjected to prerelease A/B test of Gemini 2.5 vs 3 when trying to decode ancient ledgers. Infographic below, full article at generativehistory.substack.com/p/has-google...

Where does Higher Education go when Gemini becomes your personal sorcerers apprentice? This was one prompt away in Nano Banana Pro - to summarise one persons 2024. Wild: www.reddit.com/r/nanobanana...

@carolecadwalla.bsky.social would you like a share of a NotebookLM with all the text files from Epstein loaded? Ask any question and all that??

Using AI as a personal tutor: this is another use case, beautifully executed in NotebookLM. From personal experience, this is product of the century: open.substack.com/pub/aimaker/...

Bingo. The false pursuit of using LLMs toward AGI explained thoughtfully. Deepmind are using the full arsenal of other approaches, but most others are riding a false tidal wave: open.substack.com/pub/srinipag...

There is at least one industry that's already entering a nuclear winter due to the rise of AI. See the genesis of a fictitious music artist in this segment between 1:27 and 3:13:

then see what someone else created based on that work:

Used Google Veo3 to turn my local Unisex Hairdressers kiddie first haircut barbers chair (modelled on a Mini cabriolet) into the owners Bank Holiday escape wheels.

Got a Windows instance running Office in AWS Workplace. Now to get kutools to bulk download emails for processing by NotebookLM Plus #LearningByBuilding

Upgraded to NotebookLM Plus. Had an interview. Helped a friend processing audio transcripts for a legal case. Ordered a light to sit atop my 28” monitor to even up light distribution on my face during calls. Good start to the week.

You’ve met folks that are excellent bullshitters but who never get things done. Say but not do. I’m currently trying to generate a prompt that will break through a whole series of recorded conversations and call it out. NotebookLM taking things too much at face value - but ideas welcome.

Learning the nuances of applying AI tools to business problems by building things. Still stymied by a Microsoft decision to remove ribbon button bars in Outlook - where a really useful kutools add-in (bulk download of Hotmail history) bases all its UI on them. #doh

Basking in NotebookLM on my new MacBook Air. Its ability to summarise multiple audio recordings and weave them into a Podcast discussion is unreal #impressed
