You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who’s coming to save you?

I'm in danger!

One day when I'm not a full-time administrator you better believe I'll be serving up some more juicy hot takes.

First snowfall!!

Working from home.. for the morning (alas, Friday afternoon sare busy meeting time), first time since August.

Remembering that I used to do this more than once every three months. And that I make a better coffee than Starbucks.

Always fun citing Internet posts (I am sure there's a better citation convention...).

My daughter has abandoned me and now I’m determined to finish this children’s puzzle alone.

Is it negligent to let my nine year old stay up to see the end of this game?

(His knowledge of Jays trivia inspires us all!)

Can’t believe I’m watching Game 7 of the World Series being played at Skydome.

Montenegroni on deck: 2 parts Montenegro, 1 each of Gin and Sweet Vermouth, dashes of bitter and orange twist.

Lets-a-go!

Look what I got in the mail up here in Canada! And to think I knew @dagomardegroot.bsky.social back before he was a superstar.

In seriousness, am excited to read this both as a historian /and/ as a space nerd.

Festive did not work last night.

Time to go to concoct some bitter, gritty drinks for tonight.

Tonight’s Blue Jays sip

Found on Reddit: “The Sunflower”

Equal parts gin, Cointreau, St. Germain, and lemon juice.

Festive and alleviates extreme stress!

“Go Jays Go” mooed the cow.

… and home from a fairly cold trick o’ treat with a cow to catch most of the first inning.

What a night! Chocolate and now the sixth game of the World Series.

This Elderflower Margarita is gonna get me through this Jays game..

(As a middle-aged man I am aware I need to get into weird habits; this year I have chosen cocktails)

We have a cow in our house (our nine year old - he will be warm on Halloween!).

I made the mistake of saying my son could stay up through the 6th.

Pictured: happy dance while brushing his teeth.

Happy Internet Archive Day to all who celebrate.

The Internet Archive is hitting its trillionth webpage archived, and - as a long time collaborator and historian of both web archiving more generally as well as the Internet Archive specifically - am happy to join them for this milestone.

For his ninth birthday, we took our son to a Maple Leafs game.

He also got to experience the true feeling of being a Maple Leaf fan: disappointment!

Interesting to see a direct flight to… Rzeszów, Poland (!!) on the board at Toronto Pearson.

OK, now there's a great setting for a sitcom...

(A retirement community of professors!! Could you imagine those community meetings?)

Wow, check out this long-lost 1994 Sierra adventure game about research administration!

(Ok having fun with LLMs while I cook dinner)

My 500-words a day continues to pay off.

Too bad it is the roughest draft of all rough drafts, but my goal is to get a rough pile o' paper by next summer that will then be shaped into something resembling a real manuscript.

Cool art installation at Waterloo Public Square. You yell into a microphone and a creature pops out! (Plus you embarrass your children)

Spending some of this morning looking at archived Flash videos from the post-9/11 era. Not at all what I have expected, more earnest visual essays than offensive games.
