11 years ago Pharrell Williams released Happy – the most inoffensive and sickeningly positive twee song imaginable – in a cynical ploy to deflect & diffuse bad pr from his involvement with Robin Thicke's rank ode to r*pe-culture, Blurred Lines. And it absolutely worked. No one can persuade otherwise
