Tripping the light fantastic at Port Lympne.
December 11, 2025 at 5:00 PM
The Port Lympne light trail photos will come tomorrow or Friday, but this was the real reason why I went there with my Big Camera this evening. Little nephew Nate got to meet Santa there, both were absolute stars.

Have put the rest of the decorations up in the living room . . .

One more set of photos for anyone on X still interested, I took these on my Big Camera yesterday evening at a cold and blustery Folkestone Harbour Arm.

The "Star Of Bethlehem" is a car park flood light, another unplanned photo set up but I seem to have been given signs lately.

"Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning".

My favourite spot at this time of year, the East Cliff Sands at Folkestone only 3 mins walk from my house. Taken on my Big Camera (Nikon D7000), no AI enhancements, etc, just some manual post-processing to bring photo out.

While on a photography mission at the Folkestone Harbour Arm, I quickly captured this last minute surprise coloured sunset on my iSamsony smartbone.

PS: Not photoshopped and no AI enhancements. Just dropped down the exposure on the camera app.

Behold my fiery looking Chrimbo tree. Probably need to slug down a pint of milk just by looking at it.

The glow right in the middle of the grass area at Folkestone is a heiligenschein. Shows up when sunlight directly behind the observer is refracted inside millions of tiny dewdrops on grass and shone back to line of vision.

Lest We Forget.

Remembrance at Folkestone Harbour. This is where thousands of troops got onto cross-channel boats on way to battle fields at France during The Great War.

Many of them never came back.

Shorts back on here at balmy Folkestone (currently 17 C). I'm hoping that we have skipped our usual seven months long Autumn and Spring has started early, but that might be wishful thinking on my part.

Quickly sent The Delta Flyer up to capture a nice sunset over Folkestone. Great not having buildings, trees and wires not getting in the way.
November 6, 2025 at 5:42 PM
Tried to have a go at capturing a firework from above my house, this is the best I could come up with. The Delta Flyer did a god job with keeping still to take a 1.6 seconds long exposure at ISO 400 considering a fairly brisk wind aloft, but tricky to get the timing right.

I know this part of Folkestone is a bit scary . . .

Acceptable or excessive? Spotted the little 20 inches second hand monitor at the local CEX store for £24 and an another brain fart came to mind.

Kitten Kong Returns.

The 10.15 am service was delayed thanks to a cat on the line.

Did this for a local pet supply shop owner who is also a good friend.

The past week working in a hallway has given me an idea for this doodle, first one drawn in my brand new Hobby Room 2.

Just taken the Delta Flyer towards Folkestone beach from my back yard as I hoped the full moon & partial cloud cover would give the night sky a bit more texture than the last time.
October 8, 2025 at 7:33 PM
Took The Delta Flyer on a quick straight-up & down night flight over Folkestone on this calm moonlit evening. I got it facing east (Dover way).
October 7, 2025 at 8:44 PM
Just sent the drone back up over Folkestone.
October 1, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Just took the ol' drone for a quick spin to capture some more of Sukhino Mudita's sand etchings at the East Cliff Sands, Folkestone. The lighting was a bit flat due to overcast skies so had to pop out this photo in post-processing.
September 28, 2025 at 11:40 AM
Just captured this sunset over Folkestone with my drone. Like before, a simple straight upwards to 80 metres ASL and back down flight above the relative safety of my front garden, thankfully upper level wind was within safety parameters.

End Of An Era.

Folkestone Bus Station will be closed down on Monday and eventually be replaced by a garden/park area by this time next year. The station was built in the 1950s which, ironically replaced a park area before that.
