Happy new haircut, Scooby. There is no garden time for her today. She will roll in the borders to get rid of the fresh blueberry fragrance she is currently carrying on her. Our pooch does not do 'clean' for long!
Small white dog. Scooby. Just had a Christmas haircut. Looks a bit sorry for herself as she hates the 'punishment' of being clean. Currently, she smells of blueberries.

Netherfield Road North. Liverpool 5.
A black & white picture - not one of mine - of Netherfield Rd North, Liverpool. Showing previously cobbled main road, partially covered with tarmac & the remains of the lamented tram lines. Looking towards Everton Valley. A park, old cinema building (The Popular.) & 'mission' building to the right, on the end of Hapton Street where I lived as a child. On the left of the picture shops, houses & a pub (Bents) in the distance. I'm not sure of the date, but I would say 1960s.

The traffic was really bad up here today!
As we were heading back from Skipton Castle, a farmer was taking his flock of sheep from one field to the other. In the picture, not only were they being taken out of one field, through a gate, across a road, through another gate & into another field but also expertly marshalled between the cars & vans by a very attentive sheep dog, not in the frame. In this picture, the sheep dog is on a grass verge to the left, stopping some of the sheep who have strayed between vehicles. I wish we had had one of these dogs to help keep our kids under control!

A few images from a visit to Skipton Castle. Originally a wooden Fort in 1090. Replaced by a stone castle in the 14thC as the wooden Fort couldn't stand up to raids by Scottish rebels.
Skipton Castle. Dating from the 14thC. Originating in 1090 as a wooden Fort. The exterior of Skipton Castle is a robust, well-preserved medieval structure featuring a large, stone-built gatehouse with twin towers, surrounded by a substantial curtain wall. An image of 2 tall narrow, arched, mediaeval windows, looking out onto the surrounding grassy areas & woods surrounding Skipton Castle. A stone arched cooking area in the kitchens of Skipton Castle. The surrounding walls & floor are stone with a mix of yellow, white & brown hues. the ceiling and walls from about 8 feet upwards are white with exposed beams. Parts of the arch above the cooking area gave soot residue. The dungeon at Skipton Castle. An arched stone room. Approx 12 feet long by 6 feet wide. It is windowless. An information sign on the wall says that one of the occupants reported that he had never been fed so well.

A few images of the ruins of Fountains Abbey. It was founded in 1132 and operated by monks until its dissolution by Henry VIII in 1539.

A day out at Castle Bolton near Aysgarth in the Yorkshire Dale's.
An oubliette or underground dungeon at Castle Bolton. So named by the French 'to forget' whoever was unfortunate enough to be thrown down there & forgotten about. The bed chamber at Castle Bolton, where Mary Queen of Scots was held. Decorated with typical furnishings of the time. Four poster bed. Carpets, tapestry works, spinning wheel & other furniture.

Scooby seems to have a new favourite place. This seems to have happened since passers by paid her some attention a few days back.
Scooby. A small white dog. Sleeping on the back of a settee positioned in front of a bay window, which looks out onto a main road & footpath. Here, she can see passers by, particularly school children who wave to her.

Scooby has had a hard day. Pampered, haircut,nails trimmed, walked, fed. Now nap time. A lovely blueberry smell permeates the kitchen.

Good restaurant. Can be really busy but plenty of room to move. Overlooks the bay.
Cutlery wrapped in a blue, branded tissue at the Casa Restaurant in Dubrovnik. Great staff, very attentive. Good choice of food. A little pricey depending on your choices from the menu. I would certainly go again.

A good day out at Marine FC yesterday, for my brother in laws birthday. A pity about the result. Lost 1-0. The only real dampener was the weather.
