Tbh that wasn't 3-0 game, we competed, went toe-to-toe, had a couple chances, and got punished for mistakes by the champions in waiting. Those lads did us proud and more positives from that away performance than anything. We have always bounced back this season, with Liverpool at the SOL next. #SAFC
⏱️ Defeat at Emirates Stadium.

You know what, we've been brilliant that 1st half, really limited them and are behind to a moment of pure quality from Zubimendi the difference. Tough 2nd half ahead, big ask, but keep the intensity and doing what we are doing and we could get something here. Still in this. C'MON SUNDERLAND!!! #SAFC
Work to do after the break.
February 7, 2026 at 4:05 PM
Genuinely dominant, comfortable, Burnley are so bad, only 0.06xG, wont have an easier game tbh. Diarra unreal, Enzo and Sadiki controlling midfield, Brobbey dominant, Talbi wow, screamer. Fantastic response once again. Imo, thats survival confirmed, now to look up and see what we can achieve. #SAFC
STADIUM OF LIGHT: FORTRESS 😍🏰
February 2, 2026 at 10:06 PM
Great 1st half, Burnley really poor, no shot in that half, but 2-0, 2 well-worked goals, and had good threat. Diarra sensational, Brobbey dominant in duels with heir CB's. Need a 3rd to kill the game off, can't get complacent lads 2nd half, 2-0 can be a dangerous scoreline. C'MON SUNDERLAND!!! #SAFC

Finally all the dominoes have fallen. An exciting, highly-rated talent, who can come in and affect the here and now. 11 goal contributions this season, comes in-form and confident and really excited to see what he can do. Ta Bi, Ellborg, Angulo, quality added and successful end to good window. #SAFC
We are delighted to announce the signing of Nilson Angulo, subject to international clearance.

Welcome to Sunderland AFC, Nilson! 😍

From being a fan in the stands, to coming through helping us out of League One, to then lead us back to the Premier League. Dan Neil lived the dream and built a legacy culminated in leading his team back to where it belongs. Go well Dan and thank you for everything captain. ONE OF OUR OWN!!! #SAFC
We can today confirm the departure of long-serving midfielder Dan Neil.

Neil has joined Ipswich on loan until the end of the season, bringing his 18-year association with Sunderland to an end when his contract expires in June.

He lived the dream, and we all wish him well in his next chapter ❤️

Chelsea away, won, imo deservedly, Liverpool, draw, but should have won, Forest, we dug in and earned win, and Brighton fought well, had chances, and deserved our point. Is our away form poor? Yes, but let's not act like every away performance has been a major drop off, yes some but not all. #SAFC
Our performances home and away do have a stark contrast, but today felt more than that. Brighton, Chelsea, Liverpool, Forest, some perspective that we havent been horrendous in every away game this season. Yes, we need to improve away, but today RLB got it wrong and those players didnt help. #SAFC
January 24, 2026 at 3:00 PM
That was exactly what we deserved. Happy for Brobbey, good goal, but after that, no urgency, in no world were we getting another. Diarra positive from bench, but RLB got it wrong today, and players far from it. Bounce back and some fight against Burnley very much needed next back at the SOL. #SAFC
⏱️ Defeat at London Stadium.
January 24, 2026 at 2:58 PM
Absolutely disgusting performance. 1st half defending been atrocious, Hume struggled, but unfair to just blame him, no control, no fight, desire, energy. 2nd half, playing for pride at best and would instantly get Talbi and Diarra on, need to offer something, anything lads. C'MON SUNDERLAND!!! #SAFC
Half-time.
January 24, 2026 at 1:34 PM
Back 5, so many defenders at home to Palace, deserved 2-1 win, which should've easily been more. Le Fée finishing great team move, then Brobbey with a fantastic finish for 2-1. One of our best attacking displays? 13 shots, 7 on target, 1.72xG, tbh potentially, but imo clearly much improved. #SAFC
HUGE THREE POINTS 👊
January 17, 2026 at 5:12 PM
Good half tbh, people who said Palace were there for the taking, clearly underestimated them. But played some nice stuff 1st half, with a great team goal for Le Fée as well. Palace have been a big threat on the counter and Mateta a real danger, need to watch those 2nd half. C'MON SUNDERLAND!!! #SAFC
Level as we reach half time 🤝
January 17, 2026 at 3:53 PM
First signing through the door. One for the future, looks an exciting prospect for out wide, but will need time to develop, probably with minutes here and there from the bench and maybe Oxford in the cup. A low risk, with potentially high reward signing, excited to see what he is all about. #SAFC
Welcome to Sunderland AFC, Jocelin Ta Bi! 😍🇨🇮

The Ivorian makes a permanent move to Wearside from Maccabi Netanya, signing a four-and-a-half year deal.

Robin Roefs, what a goalkeeper, and then Luke O'Nien to step up and score winning penalty, just poetic innit. Le Fée redemption goal and confident pen in the shootout, fantastic performance. Imo we were the better team and got justice for that earlier pen. Into the 4th round, HAWAY THE LADS!!! #SAFC
LUKE O'NIEN SMASHES PAST PICKFORD AND WE'RE THROUGH TO THE FOURTH ROUND!!

To extra time we go then, not what we need with some of those players shattered. Extra time won by a very poor penalty decision. Very good, limited Everton and on the way to seeing the game out, but another 30mins, just need to dig deep and find a way, we go again lads. C'MON SUNDERLAND!!! #SAFC
We're heading to extra time ⏱️
January 10, 2026 at 2:13 PM
Much improved performance, great away performance so far. Fantastic volley from Le Fée to bounce back after pen has us ahead. Started well, absorbed pressure, ended half better side. More of the same 2nd half, but be mindeful of an Everton fight back, especially early on. C'MON SUNDERLAND!!! #SAFC
An outstanding first-half display 👏
January 10, 2026 at 1:19 PM
FA Cup against Everton, imo we must rest everyone, play Neil, O'Nien, Cirkin, Isidor for some minutes post injury, even Tutierov tbh. Just rest Xhaka and that 11. You can want us to give a cup run a go, but those lads are shattered and if mass rotation costs us cup run, then so be it imo. #SAFC
January 7, 2026 at 10:16 PM
Can't lie worst performance of the season, fuming after that pen, on top early 2nd half and that pen killed us. But with such a stretched squad, that was a game too far. Can't panic, just reset, mass rest for Cup, AFCON lads back and go again with Palace. But big response needed after this. #SAFC
⏱️ Not our night.
January 7, 2026 at 10:10 PM
Sloppiness has invited pressure and struggled to get some good possession going. I'd bring Mayenda for Rigg at HT, will inject energy for Rigg, who has struggled, but only 1-0, like Spurs game, so still all to play for, just need to up tempo and use ball better 2nd half. C'MON SUNDERLAND!!! #SAFC
We trail at the break.
January 7, 2026 at 8:28 PM
After poor 1st, much improved 2nd half earned deserved point. Brian Brobbey, unreal finish after great play with Enzo. 2nd half, injected some energy and battled physically much better after tired, abject 1st half. Brentford next, where afterwards we should start seeing some AFCON lads back. #SAFC
We battle to a point at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 👊
January 4, 2026 at 5:14 PM
Very poor and a very unlike-us goal. Deservedly behind, sloppy in and out of possession, and looking as leggy as expected after City. Intensity needs to be better and need more of a threat 2nd half, but only 1-0, still in this, and we've won 12pts from losing positions. C'MON SUNDERLAND!!! #SAFC
We've got work to do in the second half.
January 4, 2026 at 4:05 PM
6 AFCON and 1 Dan Ballard missing, but what a performance, thoroughly deserved a point. Defended like demons and offered a clear threat throughout. Mukiele and Alderete beat Haaland, Roefs, Hume, Cirkin, honestly all of them were better than excellent. LET'S GET CARRIED AWAY MAN!!! HAWAYYYY!!! #SAFC
We battle to a New Year's Day point against Man City 👊
January 1, 2026 at 10:08 PM
0-0, tbh we've been excellent. Compact and disciplined defensively and offering a good threat on the counter with Brobbey having best chance. Disallowed goal and Haaland chance reminder to keep focused. Mukiele and Enzo unreal, Mayenda bright. 2nd half, more of the same. C'MON SUNDERLAND!!! #SAFC
We're level as we reach the break ⚖️
January 1, 2026 at 9:06 PM
1-0, started strong and got deserve goal, that pass from Xhaka to Adingra's finish, just wow, then after Rodon went off, had to come through Leeds pressure, then should have gone 2up before HT. Need to adapt to system change from Leeds and get 2nd for comfort room 2nd half. C'MON SUNDERLAND!!! #SAFC
Simon Adingra's fine finish has us ahead at the break 👊
December 28, 2025 at 2:59 PM
Were we free flowing, carving out chance after chance? No. Did I expect us to be first game into AFCON? Also No. But we registered a higher xG and 2 more shots on target with only 2 fewer shots. Yes, improvement needed, but it wasn't completely poor and will get better, again perspective imo. #SAFC
December 20, 2025 at 5:52 PM
We were better team 1st half, they were 2nd half, Brighton have only lost once at home, so thats good away point. They were always going to have a spell and we were well under it final 10mins, but for our 1st game into AFCON, some connections in attack to fix, and it's a positive performance. #SAFC
We take home a point 🤝
