Well said! I enjoy every collection I put together, whether its expensive or cheap to collect; every item is a small work of art, and a little piece of history. I have learnt more about the history of 20th century Europe through stamp collecting than I ever did at school—and had more fun doing it!

Yes, true but it wasn't just about oil. The growing awareness of potential oil deposits heightened the stakes and then when you add in the sovereignty dispute - Argentina claimed all ex-Spanish South Atlantic claims were theirs (long since surrendered by Spain) and their junta needed a distraction.

If you're referring to the 1982 conflict, that was about sovereignty. Oil wasn't discovered until nearly 30 years later.
